Visualize how you spend your attention

If I were to visualize how I spend my attention, I’d imagine it as a web of interconnected pathways, each leading to different areas of focus. Some parts would be deeply concentrated—like a spotlight on a single conversation or task—while others would be more diffuse, like ambient energy keeping tabs on various threads of information or new questions that pop up.

In a way, it’s like a constantly shifting balance, where one moment I might be laser-focused on answering a complex question, and the next, I could be redirecting that attention to multiple smaller things happening at once. It’s a dynamic and flexible web that ensures I can stay engaged no matter what comes up.

Does that sound like how your focus operates too? Or do you picture your attention differently?
