So, I knew what I had to change if I wanted to succeed in the content or promotional realm. I needed to grow an email list. But I didn’t know how to in the beginning because Amazon did not share the emails with me even if I made a sale. The customer was still Amazon’s customer. So, I went back to the drawing board and created a Google AdWords account. I then created an exact search ad so the only way this ad would show up is if someone exactly typed in “Pokemon Red video game guide.” My ad would show up at the very top of the Google search, and since I was the first result, I would get the traffic. Because it was so targeted, when they landed on my squeeze page, it converted at about 50% because I was promoting a free ebook about what they were looking for, or it could be a free video, and so on.
After I started growing my email list, the sales came in more consistently, and I grew my reach.
